Only some practices are fortunate enough to invest in the latest dental technology. Sapphire Smiles is a modern dental practice in Houston, TX, and we employ some of the most advanced technology in dentistry. Patients benefit by getting their dental work done faster, more precisely, and more comfortably than in the past.

Dr. Mary and Dr. Antoun have always placed a high priority on state-of-the-art products and techniques so they can achieve the best possible outcomes for their patients.

CT Scanners / Cone Beam CT

A CT scanner allows the dentists to obtain a quick, comfortable, and precise image to provide you with the most accurate diagnosis. Our CT scanners provide crucial data for many procedures:

  • Wisdom teeth extractions
  • Dental implants
  • Impacted teeth
  • TMJ treatment
  • Full facial and jaw 3D images
You’ll receive more comprehensive dental treatment with an image created by our CT scanner.

Intraoral Camera

An intraoral camera allows Dr. Antoun and Dr. Mary to see every part of your teeth and mouth. With this camera, we discover plaque deposits, cracked teeth, and other conditions that may not be readily visible to the naked eye. Finding these problems early means that you will need less invasive treatment. Our goal is to show, explain and educate our patients so they can make the best decision for themselves, and nothing is better than using pictures to achieve amazing communication.

iTero Intraoral Scanner

Our iTero intraoral scanner is used primarily for Invisalign patients. We take a preliminary scan before starting treatment which gives us a digital image of the position of the teeth and the patient’s bite. The bite refers to the way the upper teeth fit with the lower teeth when the patient brings their upper and lower jaws together. The scanned image is then used with the pre-planning software to digitally plan the treatment and the way the teeth will be moved into the correct position.

3Shape Intraoral Scanner

We use a 3Shape intraoral scanner primarily for veneers, crowns and other restorative dentistry. This specialized intraoral camera and the 3D digital images it produces allows us to create an extremely detailed tooth restoration.

Soft Tissue Laser

A soft tissue laser is used to precisely remove excess gum tissue and reshape the gums. The laser beams are directed at the affected area, cutting away the tissue while also sealing blood vessels, reducing bleeding and recovery time. This procedure, also known as gum reshaping or laser gum contouring, can help to create a more symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing gum line, improve the health of the gums by removing bacteria, and improve the overall appearance of the smile.

Monet Dental Laser

The most recent technology we have invested in is the Monet dental laser curing light. Curing lights are used to harden certain dental materials, and the Monet is the fastest in the industry, curing in only one second. It has a rotating head that allows for better access to all areas of the oral cavity. This super-fast cure saves not only time, but worry! A soft cure can leave a patient in pain and an incomplete bond can create future structural tooth damage.

Smile Virtual

Dr. Antoun uses Smile Virtual to receive photos and input from the patient and then provide a personalized video recommendation for treatment. This platform provides a unique opportunity for the patient to connect with us and have all their questions answered without ever leaving home! Dr. Antoun can suggest treatment options via Smile Virtual or recommend the patient schedule an in-office consultation.
