Born and raised in Cairo, Egypt, Dr. Mina Antoun has always been fascinated with art and science. Dentistry provided the perfect career that would allow him to combine both of these interests. Dr. Antoun studied dentistry in Cairo and practiced in the field for three years before moving to America with his wife, Dr. Mary Antoun.
While living in New York, Dr. Antoun received his second dental degree from New York University, where he also gained valuable experience by serving as a teaching assistant. He graduated at the top of his class academically and clinically, and became a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society. He was also enrolled in the Honors Clinical Concentration Program in Aesthetic Dentistry and received the Arthur Charles Hull and Samuel & Hannah Holzman Award for demonstrating the greatest proficiency in endodontics in his class.
After graduating from NYU, Dr. Antoun and his wife moved to Texas, where they quickly established roots and became involved in their community. Dr. Antoun established Sapphire Smiles in 2020 and is now known as one of the top-rated cosmetic dentists in Houston, dedicated to providing superior, individualized cosmetic dental services and comprehensive dental care. Dr. Antoun travels all over the country and even internationally to attend continuing education courses in cosmetic dentistry to keep up with the latest technology and techniques. Dr. Antoun is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Texas Dental Association (TDA), and Greater Houston Dental Society (GHDS).
In his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer and spending quality time with Mary and their three children.
Dr. Mary Antoun comes from a family of doctors, and this inspired her interest in science and biology from a young age. She was fascinated by how doctors could help people get out of pain, leading her to pursue a career in dentistry.
As a general dentist, Dr. Mary helps her patients by eliminating excruciating pain, and as a cosmetic dentist, she helps restore confidence by perfecting her patients' smiles.
Dr. Mary graduated as valedictorian in 2010 from a dental school in Egypt and gained valuable experience working as a general dentist for two years. She moved to the United States and completed the dental program at NYU College of Dentistry, again graduating as valedictorian.
One of the top cosmetic dentists in Houston, Dr. Mary attends courses throughout the United States and internationally to stay up to date on the most recent technology and techniques. Dr. Mary has received special training in smile makeovers and Invisalign and has successfully treated hundreds of smiles. Dr. Mary is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Texas Dental Association (TDA), the Greater Houston Dental Society (GHDS), and the American Academy of Clear Aligners (AACA).
Dr. Mary enjoys spending time with her family, beach vacations, and reading in her free time.
Dr. Ernest Erian was born in Cairo, Egypt. He attended Modern Science and Arts University School of Dental Medicine where he received his bachelor’s degree in dental surgery. After moving to the United States, he completed a fellowship in periodontics at the world-renowned Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, after which he pursued a 3-year residency and master’s degree in periodontics from the same school.
After venturing out into clinical practice and the periodontal profession for multiple years, Dr. Erian wanted to further expand his knowledge and experience in treating complicated full mouth implant rehabilitation. He returned to school, attending a specialty fellowship in implant prosthodontics at Louisiana State University. He is currently based in Houston, TX and maintains a full-time position in private practice limited to periodontal surgery and dental implant therapy.
Dr. Erian is a board-certified periodontist and implant specialist, diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, member of the American Academy of Periodontology, and member of the Texas Dental Association. He also co-authored multiple research papers that are published in world-renowned medical journals.
